JUNTO
A passion for people and progress inspired this podcast! Junto (pronounced with the “J” sound) is a play off of the spanish word which means “together” and at Junto, we truly believe that life is better when we do it together. Episode 76: Exploring The New Testament Book of James - Part 4
Tuesday Apr 23, 2024
Tuesday Apr 23, 2024
In Part 4 of our exploration into the Book of James we dig into the concept of the "power of the tongue".
The tongue is compared to a small rudder that has the ability to guide even the largest ship as the captain desires or the capacity to control a large horse with a bit in its mouth. Likewise, there is power in the tongue or in more modern terms, the words that we speak have value and power.
James also speaks to us about true wisdom only being endowed from on high and wards against "worldliness".

In Episode 75, we delve into Chapter 2 of the book of James that holds a ton of wisdom for guarding against favoritism in church and our personal lives.
This chapter also warns us that honoring the rich above the poor is sin and shows us how to fulfill the law by loving others. James knew the importance of loving God with all our heart, mind, and strength and loving our neighbor as ourselves.
By the end of the chapter, we learn that faith without works is DEAD! Let’s dig deep this week.

WHY JUNTO?
Junto, pronounced with a "J" sound is a play off the word "together" in Spanish which is spelled the same way, but pronounced with an "H" sound. My experience in ministry as a pastor, and my time working in a college setting as a student coordinator and professor have inspired this podcast as means of encouragement through the simplicity of conversation.
My adult career has been spent, in one form or another, in engaging with people and if there is anything I have learned, it's that life is better, when we do it together. The Junto Podcast was created with this idea in mind to empower and motivate people through means of leadership, faith, and having a community mindset. While topics may vary from episode to episode, the conversations will always come back to our main ideals of how can I apply this topic to enable me to become a better leader and how can I inspire others to engage in this open and honest dialogue. I hope that you find these episodes enlightening, entertaining, and honest and that they inspire you to join the conversation. Life is truly better, when we do it together.
